Caterpillar group president Ed Rapp and his wife Ann have donated $1 million. The donation to the OSF HealthCare Foundation will support neuroscience innovation. The innovation is focused toward earlier diagnoses and improving assistive technologies.
Ed Rapp was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and has focused his retirement on helping find a cure.
The donation will support collaborative efforts between OSF HealthCare Illinois Neurological Institute, Jump Simulation, and University of Illinois Engineers. The efforts will seek to improve the outlook of the more than 12 million Americans projected to suffer from a degenerative or autoimmune disorder within the next 20 years.
