After Amazon announced last year that they would be attempting to create a drone delivery system for package shipping, many companies began testing for drone delivery systems. Valqari, however, immediately got to work on a patent for a drone receiving system which would allow for safe and standardized drone landing spots. Peoria Autonomous Mobility Tech Company Acquired

More high-tech jobs appear headed to central Illinois with a Swedish firm’s announcement that it has acquired AutonomouStuff, the Morton-headquartered developer of autonomous vehicle systems. Hexagon AB, a global developer of digital solutions with an emphasis on precision measurement technology, plans to expand the AutonomouStuff presence in the Peoria area once the necessary regulatory approvals for the transaction are complete, a process that is anticipated to be finished in about 90 days. The acquisition price was not disclosed. “We are not planning on abandoning in the Peoria area — quite the opposite,” said Michael Ritter, president of Hexagon Positioning Intelligence. “We plan on expanding.
