Peoria Autonomous Mobility Tech Company Acquired

More high-tech jobs appear headed to central Illinois with a Swedish firm’s announcement that it has acquired AutonomouStuff, the Morton-headquartered developer of autonomous vehicle systems. Hexagon AB, a global developer of digital solutions with an emphasis on precision measurement technology, plans to expand the AutonomouStuff presence in the Peoria area once the necessary regulatory approvals for the transaction are complete, a process that is anticipated to be finished in about 90 days. The acquisition price was not disclosed. “We are not planning on abandoning in the Peoria area — quite the opposite,” said Michael Ritter, president of Hexagon Positioning Intelligence. “We plan on expanding. Whittier Primary School Wins STEM Grant

Whittier Primary School is one of 25 schools statewide that have been awarded participation in the state’s three-year Bicentennial STEM Fusion Program. The program overseen by the Illinois Math and Science Academy is a teacher development initiative for math and science. It focuses on teachers and students in grades four through eight to stimulate careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
